Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by frost."
I finished “Bluebeard” by Kurt Vonnegut! It has taken me pretty much half the school year! The ending was great, which is what I suspected from Vonnegut! Two really great quotes from the book:
1.”Does Franklin Cooley, that poor, dumb bastard with six kids, his ears filled with the clashing gibberish of the mowers, have the least suspicion that earthshaking work is going on in here?”
2.”At the end of that evening, I remember, he said to me: ‘I can’t get over how passionate you guys are, and yet so absolutely unserious.’ ‘Everything about life is a joke,’ I said. ‘Don’t you know that?’ ‘No.’ he said.
I really, really liked the book! I highly recommend it. Now, I have moved on to reading “To Kill A Mockingbird.” I read it before in 8th grade, but I was so naive then. I will better understand it now! Once my aunt returns my “Man Without A Country” I might read that one again after HarperLee. I also need to get myself started on Vonnegut’s “Bagombo Snuff Box.”
Tomorrow is my last day of Junior year!! I’ll be a senior after tomorrow!
I already gave you guys one recommendation, but I will also recommend you all go out and rent “The Da Vinci Code” even if you saw it already! I love that movie a lot! It’s a huge mixture of art and history! My favorite subjects!
Until next time, enrich your mind with some anthropology!
